Its been nice to be around him and not have his stress level be so high like it has been the past year. I am so glad we are coming to the end of this medic course. Its been hard on all of us, but most especially on Dominic. He returns to work Monday for a week and then leaves us for a rotation for a month. (anyone want to come visit?) Then just a few weeks of wrap up and he will be all done with the medic course!!!!!!
There are many benefits to Dominic going through this training, as difficult as it has been for us. The first is that it opens many doors for him once he gets the whole SF bug out of his system. He talks of going on to be a nurse, PA or MD in or out of the army. (It changes by the day). Also, now when the boys have an owie, we've taught them to cry "medic!" and make their way to daddy. Mommy's kisses no longer work to heal all things, now we need an exam done by daddy. He is very professional about the whole thing, it makes us smile.
Finally, Dominic sometimes gets to bring some parts of his work home with him. The boys love it when daddy pulls out the stethoscope and listens to their heart, and they especially love it when he brings home bandages and practices wrapping. Of course we are all considerably smaller than the patients he would normally be working with, so the wrappings go a long way!

So glad to see you enjoying some much needed family time. It is so tough when they are gone, but it definitely makes the time when they are home much more precious.
looks like things are going so well and i love the mummy pics. i bet you are so happy to have pursued dom dream though so he could find what we likes or doesnt like
That is so funny and cute about the Dr. exams, very sweet.
p.s.thank you for supporting Dom and taking care of things at home while he gets through this school/training, your sacrifices dont go unnoticed.
