A playdate for Finnigan

One of the plus sides of Liam being in school is Finn getting more of my time and attention. Now that Liam isn't around most of the day I am really making an effort to talk to Finnigan more about the things he and I are doing. I realize that for awhile I enjoyed the silence of Liam being gone and kept it quiet, but now I am trying to help Finnigan along in his speech development. Right now he is average for his age, but Liam was so far advanced that its taken me awhile to realize that about Finn. Of course I know I am no where near as cool as his older brother, but I think he will tolerate me until something better comes along.
We also got to have a play date with our friend Merrit who is the same age as Finn (a week younger) and as you can see, just as blond. I think they had fun together. It was fun for me to see Finn playing with someone his own age. Hopefully as I get used to this whole school thing I can get Finn out and about more for more playing and learning.
Yesterday while we were driving home from Mass, Liam asked Dominic for a baby brother. he has been asking me for a younger sibling for a long time now....but now daddy got to hear it too. Yesterday his reasoning was that if we had another baby we could get a minivan "which has lots of space to store cool things....like rope." :-) Never mind the baby, they boy wants rope! To be fair he has told me that he wanted another brother to play with, even if it did start out as a baby a few weeks ago, and he even conceded that a sister would be okay if necessary...... maybe if my oldest son keeps working on Dominic....
And speaking of Dominic, the news. He will be recycled through, which is a good thing. He starts again the beginning of November, he will redo the surgery block and then continue on with the last two months of class. He will be tending to his "patient simulator" over Thanksgiving...lucky for me and the boys..(anyone want to come and visit?) He is hoping to be able to take some leave in the next month or so, since we have a lot stored up, and not really doing much of anything. Fr Tony was back at mass this weekend (he had a slipped disk in his back), and his returning homily hit it right on the head..." you can be bitter, or you can be better" Thank you Father Tony for allowing God to speak through you! We are trying to be better.

glad to hear about Dominic. Hopefully things will go better and it might be nice if he could get a little time off to relax before he cycles in again. I would love to come visit, but we can't :(
