So, Hanna(h) is expected to hit landfall early Saturday morning, and apparently we live close enough to the coast to experience lots and lots of heavy rains and strong wind. And possibly a few tornadoes. The housing office called and advised us to get anything valuable up off the basement floor, as it may flood, and if the power goes out then it will flood (something about a sump pump...) Well....I haven't been super gung-ho about unpacking things from down there, and so have been trying to dig through all the boxes and pull out anything valuable. I think I have most everything, I think. Of course I cannot get ahold of Dominic to make sure there isn't some army thing I need to find and protect. I guess I am asking for your prayers.
Hopefully the basement won't flood, and if it does, that nothing valuable gets damaged. I know for sure there is no way I'm going to get our leather recliner up the stairs by myself, or our two nightstands...they are all way too heavy for me. I've never dealt with hurricanes before, and just assumed we were too far inland to really have to worry too much, but I guess not. How long will the storm last...will the power go out? I guess I need to run out and get water and flashlights and batteries and canned food....more money we don't really have. I was looking forward to taking the boys to the cheap theater and see Walle again on Saturday, but I guess if there is a hurricane we can scratch that plan.
Pray that we are kept safe, that my anxiety is all for nothing, and that our basement won't flood. and that Dominic passes his test.

hopefully it won't be too bad. we have had a few close calls when I was growing up as a kid, but it never turned out to be much, so hopefully the same will go for you
O Dear Girl,
It's just one thing after the other, isn't it? Well, hopefully, it will get rid of the big spiders.
Not only did I envision the tree falling, but since it would have fallen on our bedroom (not the boys) I then envisioned them becoming orphans.
