Sippy Cup Saga

Well, Finnigan is finally weaned. He has not nursed at all the past 3 days, and really he didn't cry hard, and not for very long at his normal middle of the night feeding times. Last night he kind of whimpered for a minute and then fell asleep again. I am enjoying the chance to not have to leave my bed in the middle of the night for awhile. He has developed an attachment to his sippy cup "bub" and belly button. Its super cute. This past weekend we went to the store to get some more cups that don't leak. They are spiderman and super cute and cool, and exactly the same as the other cups we have been using. Just new. Which I guess is the problem. I gave him a new cup this morning and he shrieked bloody murder and threw it down, and proceeded to throw it down screaming for his "bup" everytime I tried to give it to him. It was very frustrating for both of us. I eventually hand washed one of the older cups, filled it up, and gave it to him, and then peace reigned in the house. The only difference I can see or think of, is that he has chewed a little bit on the spout of the older cups, so the new cups don't feel the same. I guess tonight I will be damaging some new cups so that they resemble the old cups. sigh. They are the same in every other way. Kids! Just when you think you've got them figured out...

that is so funny. The babies just started saying cup, but only if i prompt them too. i cant wait for them to ask for it. these last 3 days we have been weaning from the pacifire. Laycee is not happy about it, but we have already gone 3 days, there is no sense going back now. I am just about ready to throw them out.

I spoke too soon...Finn cried for about 45 minutes this morning at his normal 5am nursing time. I did not get up to tend to him, but did leak all over the place...I'm still working on drying up..the worst part of weaning. Today I used the new cup with the old lid, but it still wasn't good enough...sigh. I just don't know.
