...I really did graduate from college with a high B average. I graduated from High School with Highest Honors...honestly I am considered intelligent by normal standards. (Internet IQ tests taken while refereeing children don't count in my opinion.) Anyway...so tonight we noticed that our insurance and registration is missing from our car. We only noticed because we got a new insurance card in the mail and were "replacing" it, only to find it missing. I've glanced over every scrap of paper in this house no less than 3 times, and the ones associated with the car, about 5 times, but to no avail. We cannot find the car registration anywhere. I could have sworn that I put it in the car right after I finished registering the car on base (last August) and haven't thought of it since. It is not with the huge file of "moving papers" I carried with me every where when I first moved here a year ago...it just walked off the face of the earth and disappeared, and I feel like a complete idiot.
I am also really frustrated that it is not where it is supposed to be. My other half is staying cool and collected, but only I think because he can tell I'm freaking out, usually he would be blowing up right about now. His plan is to go to the DMV tomorrow and renew our registration, since we are conveniently due this month anyway. I only hope that they don't need any info on our current registration, or that they can somehow look it up on their computer, because we tried to access it online and had no luck. I don't have a lot of faith in DMV workers, but you just never know...sigh... little stress. Anyone who doesn't think this military life is so hard, should walk a mile in my shoes, I blame the episode entirely on being knocked firmly on my backside when moving here basically all alone with two kids from overseas. It sucked. hard. I survived, but I guess the registration got lost.
FYI, we are only days away from making our last payment on the car!!!!!! Then we only have one student loan left to pay off!! This is great news!

This does not make you a failure. We all lose things from time to time. Especially in the moves. Maybe it will just turn up conveniently. Congrats on the car and loan. Oh hey... I signed you up for a recipe blog, hope you don't mind. check out the link from my blog. I thought you would like to be part of it.
Oh, girlie, that is no fun. If it makes you feel better, I made myself a snack of hummus on crackers the other day. When I went back for seconds, I could not find the hummus again. No big deal, sometimes I put things back where they aren't supposed to go (like the freezer or the trash.) But literally, I could not find the stupid hummus. That was 3 days ago. Still no hummus. It's probably hiding somewhere with your registration. Honestly, these things have a way of walking away I think. : )
