Surfer Boy

Presidents Day weekend we made our way to the beach with some friends of ours. We have had the luck to come across a friend who enjoys teaching people how to surf! He enjoys it so much, he does it for free and even lets you use his stuff! Thankfully this guy happens to be the husband of one of me dearest friends down here, so we didn't feel too bad taking them up on their offer to come along and surf the waves. It was "chilly" and windy, and there were 4 kids total, so I did not learn how to surf this time around, but I will be claiming dibs come the spring!!! The kids played together in the sand and surf and had a blast, Liam even tried to ride a boogy board and totally bit it! But he had fun. I just gabbed with my gal pal while picking sand out of my eyes and feeding the kids, and we let the menfolk take to the surf. Dom did great, he's a natural and quick learner so he was up in no time, and riding the waves, and wiping out as well! :-) Now I have a surfer on my hands! I have requested that we pay of his bicycle, and marathon before investing in a surf board....and he agreed with that (I think the onset of fall also helped the cause of our bank account!) ;-) Anyway, it was fun, and we can't wait to do it again! Thank you so much Tugaoen Family for the fun filled day!

Aw, so much fun. Is it weird that I can't wait for spring for you to learn how to surf? I know you'll love it. How lucky for you that you live near an ocean and have a friend to teach you. I guess there are small blessings for being so far away. I love you and miss you and all your boys very much!
