This past weekend we were looking for something to do a little closer to home and so decided to make our way through the back roads of Fort Bragg to Aberdeen, NC. It is located on the backside of Fort Bragg and can be tricky to get to unless you know how. For some reason mapquest, googlemaps, tom tom and regular maps do not have these roads marked on them and instead direct you all the way around the base, which is long and unnecessary. A few months ago we stumbled upon the secret way and decided to try it out. The major pull is our nearest Panera Bread Company. It is my favorite place to eat, I love the bakery and menu, and the house latte....this is the place Dom and I would go to on Sundays after mass when we were dating and before kids, it has great memories for me, so we were so please to find our way over to our nearest location (a 45 minute drive, even the fast way!) We ate and enjoyed ourselves and even got to use my gift card from Christmas. In order to let the boys move freely after eating we made our way to a local park with train themed equipment and a nice walking trail along a lake. The boys are huge into Thomas right now, so the train park was a huge hit, and the walk was lovely and beautiful and almost reminded me of being home (except for the fact that it was in the 80's in mid October!) It was a nice afternoon, a pleasant way to spend time together, but to be out of Fayetteville and our house.
