Brewing at Home

Dominic had an unexpected two days off this week, and so we took advantage of the time after the kids went to bed and started our first batch of beer. We did a kit with everything included for the first time just to get into the swing of it. In about 2-3 months we will have some IPA (India Pale Ale) *its extra "hoppy", more hop flavored that other beers*. to enjoy with all our friends. Later this weekend we will move the "wort" from one carboy to another (primary fermentation to secondary fermentation) and a few weeks after that we will put it into bottle, and a few weeks after that we can drink our beer. It was fun to do, and I am looking forward to enjoying the fruit of our labor in a little bit. Enjoy the pictures of us in process. Sorry no kid photos in this one!

Lee is very mad/jelous. He has been wanting to do one for awhile now. You'll have to fill us in on the buying details.

so, was this hard? It looks like it would be fun to try, but I would be afraid I would mess up
