Here is a cute video of Finnigan playing with some curtians at the childrens museum here in Fayetteville. Some of you might remember a similar video clip of Liam at this age playing with a sheet on the clothes line. I don't know why it is so much fun, but it is. Thousands of times a day I wonder why I spend so much money on toys when they play the most with curtians, the dogs kennel, my pans and the laundry basket. I wish I was brave enough to throw all the toys away and just see what happens, but I can't. I am a mother and don't want to deprive my children of anything, even if they hardly ever play with the toys. I guess there are some that get played with more than others, but the pans win out everytime.
Anyway, Liam has been going through another one of his defiant phases, I hope it ends soon. Its exhausting to be tested at every turn, to have a power struggle over every thing. I don't understand why he defies me on things that he has even asked for, and really, I give him tons of choices every day, real ones too, not just "parent choices" where the other choice is time out. Sigh. Motherhood is tough work.
Finnigan was up every hour last night, except for the one time he slept for an hour and a half. This is becoming a more frequent occurence, I can't blame it on teething all the time. I need to buckle down and start the crying it out phase. I hate it. But I also hate not getting even two hours on uninterupted sleep most nights.
In my random research I found a mother from the Vicenza area who was beatified when I lived there. She is Blessed Mama Rosa. And she was a mother to 11 children total. I find great comfort in knowing that a mother of 11 is well on her way to being declared a saint. It gives me hope, and courage to keep going when really all I want to do is leave the DVD player run all day so I can get some rest. Anyway, check out her story if you are interested.

I can't believe how much older Finn looks than Laycee and Logan. He is so cute and walks well too. I am sorry Liam is being trying. I know how those days go, but he will grow up one day, I am sure you just wish it was sooner than later.
