A NEW CAR!!!!!!!

This is rather abrupt, but for those of you who know Dominic well, it comes as no surprise. Once he decides to do something, it gets done quickly! So this past week as Dom's schedule changed from nights to days, we have been experiencing the fun of waking up early to get him to work, which is fine, its all part of being a family, but still annoying for all parties involved. So we started talking about getting a second car. Through much discussion, and going back and fourth, we decided to get a bigger family car to take cross country with us if/when we move, plus with Seamus on the way, it sounded like a better idea to have something that will comfortable fit all three boys...AND, since we were going bigger, we might as well get something that can reasonable haul all of our beach gear since I now have a surfer in the family (with his own board and everything!) :-) We went back and fourth between a Toyota Sequoia (big SUV) and Toyota Sienna (big minivan)
In the end we could get a better van for our money than SUV. This concession was given as long as from here after it is referred to as a "surf mobile"! Also the understanding is that when we get to where ever we are going next Dom can get a "manly car" whatever that is in his mind. So first off we were going to keep the Saturn and get rid of it when we moved, but then we decided to trade it in since we could get more as a trade in than trying to sell it ourselves in a few months. (I think) So, now we still only have one vehicle....sigh...but it is a nice one! And Dom is on the lookout for a cheap beater to use between now and when we move. That is the car saga for this week.
Now for the details on this totally awesome "surf mobile" we have acquired. It is a 2006 Toyota Sienna LXE, so top of the line from 2006. Not that we care a lot about the bangs and whistles, so much as it was in our price range and available, BUT, that being said, we are pretty happy with all the cool things about this surf mobile. I'll just list them as I think of them.
-Leather seats, and seat warmers in driver and passenger
-two DVD player in the back for the kids
-driver, passenger AND back different climate controls
-6 disk CD changer, and MP3 (ipod) port
-automatic doors (key less entry, my favorite feature!)
-the rear seat folds flat, so lots of storage
-seating for 7 if we need it, and still room to throw crap in the back
-roof rack (to tie down surfboard)
-lots of outlets and cup holders
-rear view camera when backing up
That's all I can think of for now, but as you can see its pretty well loaded, with features we never knew about, much less though we would need. As I mentioned before, these are perks, the major selling point was price and availability. So far we are pretty happy. Here are some pictures of the boys enjoying their new surf mobile!
