This last week Kajsa brought over some beans to play with, like a sandbox but easier to clean up! I kept the beans because Finn had so much fun and brought them out later when Liam was home from school. They enjoyed hiding things, and filling cups. I put them away in a safe place to pull out on the next rainy or super exhausted day! Enjoy, and if you have kids aged 0-3 check out the parents as teachers website and see if they offer a program in your area, we love it!!! http://www.parentsasteachers.org/site/pp.asp?c=ekIRLcMZJxE&b=272091

Beans...
Once a month we have a lovely woman called Kajsa (Kaysa) who comes to the house to give me some good ideas on things to play with Finnigan. It is a wonderful program called "Parents as Teachers" It is offered for free here on Fort Bragg for parents with kids aged 0-3. A friend of mine kept gushing about it, so I finally got enrolled on the wait list. It was worth the wait! I thought it would be something fun to do with Finnigan while Liam is in school, something just for him. She always brings books and each month comes up with a new "toy". One time she brought puzzles over, and showed us how to make our own puzzles, next time we will make our own play dough. She brought a plastic jug with bottle caps of all sorts of shapes and sizes. They are big on making toys! Which emphases my desire to rid our home of toys, all though I have not done so yet, and just got more for Christmas..... Anyway, its fun. Yes, I generally all ready know the stuff she is telling me on how to play and speak with Finn, but it is nice to have that reemphasised, that yes, I am doing the right things for his development. Yes I am a good mother, even an "expert" thinks so. Finn loves having her over, and we are glad to continue this program for as long as we are here with baby #3 and then keeping it up at our next duty station.

I've done this with Dillan when he wants to dig with his tractors when it is rainy or muddy. He loves it too!
Oh so fun! I hope they have P2T in Lewis because I think it would be good for Laycee and Logan. I love EDIS here and am a little nervous about leaving the "expert" help behind. I will be on the lookout for this there.
