Today I had Seamus's 2 month check up ( I will really have to recheck punctuation rules about possessive, and plural with words ending in "s" by the way) Anyway...he was 11.3 pounds and 24 inches. That means he is in the 50% for weight, 90% for height. His head circumference is at the 75%...so he is a very tall boy with a big head and some weight on him! :-) For those of you who are aware of my boys growth chart problems, they usually start falling off the chart after 6 months, when they are supposed to be eating solids, but don't. So far so good...but he is being normal for my children. Poor little baby also had his first round of shots. This time I remembered to give him Tylenol while we were waiting our turn. He did pretty well, he hardly cried at all, happily nursed when we were done and has spent most of the rest of the day sleeping. I have been keeping up on the Tylenol just in case though. We will see how tonight and tomorrow goes.
Liam is enjoying kindergarten. The preschool program we had him in last year did a great job preparing him. Today I got a note from his teacher saying he knows 19 of 25 letter sounds (they don't count "x" because not many words start with that letter), we still have to practice, but that's pretty good for the start of the year. He also can recognize the numbers 1-10, so now we just have to work on 11-20, and we have the whole year for that. He has been bringing his lunch in, and has been swapping with his neighbor, which the school doesn't allow (thankfully) so we need to continue to enforce that at home too. I am glad he is sharing, but it is a school rule. We also found out that we make so little that we qualify for reduced lunches at school, if we decide to have him eat a hot lunch it will only cost us $.40. Sad that we get paid so little. Sigh.
Finnigan is getting used to life with out Liam around all the time. I'm still trying to figure out how to structure his day. Dom has been home a lot too, which is great, but always throws our routine out of whack because we love to play with daddy. He has been doing well with no cup, but we are seeing some unintended side effects. He doesn't drink enough fluids now that he isn't sucking on that cup all day, so we have had some potty issues, and are doing our best to work it out. Other than that, we are having fun playing together, and listening to what Finn has to say now that Liam isn't chattering all the time.
Dom and I are doing great. Dom passed his language test with flying colors, the highest grade in the class (of course) and now has had a little bit of down time before he prepares himself for the big final test in October. He is enjoying practicing bagpipes, and he just got himself a kilt too. And me, I'm just trying to get used to life with three boys. I am happy and blessed, and often frazzled as well, but I have the best job in the world, so you won't hear me complaining much. :-)
I almost got a smile on film...cutie!
