stupid phone...pity party, feel free to skip

apparently my phone got wet at some point in its life...and now the screen is totally black. (Don't bring your cell phone with you into the bathroom when you are showering...the steam gets into the phone and breaks it over the course of a year, and since it's considered "liquid damage" it doesn't fall under the warranty...I think they should make the stupid things better so ordinarily old humidity wouldn't break it, but that's just me.) The phone still works, I just can't see anything. The recommendation from the AT&T store is to purchase a go-phone and switch out the SIM card. sigh. So I went to WalMart last night and got the cheapest phone for $15. It's just a phone, nothing fancy, not even a camera. The thing is, I'm tired of always having the cheapest phone out there. I did it in Italy for 2 years. I really loved my pink razor. No I never used all the features, but I liked being able to send photos and video's, especially when Dominic was away. I liked the size, I liked that it was a flip phone...I've never had one before. Here's the thing...in my mind, when I was realizing that I would probably need a new phone, I set a $100 limit in my head I would suck it up and live with a blank phone if I couldn't find anything for less than $100, not knowing that there was a $15 phone out there.
Sensible me got the cheap phone....but there was a razor there (not pink) for $99...and I want to take the $15 phone back and get the razor...just because. Its not smart, considering the way expensive birthday gift I just got, and the fact that Dom just spent a bunch on a bike (our solution to our one car dilemma, he's decided he will bike to work, and train for triathlons...) But I want it (full on whining tone) The love of my life who spoils me completely has told me to get the razor...it just seems so frivolous when the $15 phone will meet my basic needs. Sigh. So here I sit...trying to rationalize the expense, trying to convince myself the phone I have is fine. We have a year left on our contract...so I can't just switch plans and get a cool new phone that way...we have a year left on our contract...doesn't that mean I should get the more expensive phone because it will have to last me longer?...okay, done taking your time with this.

I am used to not having the expensice cool phones, so trust me, they can be lived a fun life without. I did love the camera phone we had, great for sending pics to family. But trust me, all you need it for is talking. :) And atleast you have one. We have nothing right now. :) And now Lee is way jealous that Dom got a bike.. way to go!
