My Birthday Gift...

Dominic and the boys and my sisters all pitched in to get this for me for my birthday. I am not a gadget geek, but I have been drooling over this for awhile now. I am so happy to have it, being a reader I think it is so much cooler than an ipod on so many levels. It is certainly very cool, but also convenient for me. Why I love it:

1. I can hold it with one hand, even when "turning" pages and I don't wear out my wrist holding a book open.

2. I no longer need to drag my children through the grown up section of the library or book store while I search for something to read in between chasing my children and re-shelving the books they pull down, because I can just turn on the Internet feature of the kindle, browse online for a new book and have it downloaded, right in the privacy of my own home (or wherever I am, and whenever too!)

3. I can carry it with me anywhere, I can bring more than one"book" with me while traveling, as it has enough memory to hold over 200.

4. If I decided to buy a book, most are $10 or less, and there are also a ton of websites that have books available to download for free, especially all the classics.

5. I can download pdf and other documents if I so desire with the use of a usb cable.

6. I can surf the web on it...all though its not designed to surf the web mainly, you still can, its just a little awkward, but not so bad once you get used to it.

7. My kids can't pull out any bookmark, anytime I put it down it automatically saves my place.

Anyway, I am a total Kindle convert! I could go on about if for days, but right now, I'm going to post this and get back to reading. And that is why my postings have slowed down, I'm too busy enjoying my Kindle! :-)

That is so cool! Does it give you a headache reading a computer all day though?
