4 months

Little Seamus is 4 months old all ready! I took him to his 4 month check-up, and so far so good. He is at or above all his expected developmental milestones! (go little man) and he is gaining weight, and growing. All though he didn't gain as much as the doctor would have liked (surprise surprise!) He is 13 pounds, so down to the 15% and 24.3 inches. I try not to worry too much about this. He is my third child, you think I would be used to this little slump they all go through, but you know how we all worry! I keep feeding him, and do what I can to make sure it stays in his little tummy. In a few months we will start solids, hopefully he will take to them better than his brother did and spare mommy a little anguish. ;-P He is growing though, and really ahead of the curve on all the important stuff like motor and social development, so that is what I will focus on!

Today we also had another round of immunizations. I recently read somewhere online (Google news) that someone (I don't remember who) did a study of babies who took Tylenol while getting immunized and those that didn't, and found that for some reason the Tylenol suppresses their immune system, so basically they don't build as strong of antibodies as those that didn't take the pain reliever. Sigh. So I tried the day with out giving him Tylenol, but finally gave in and gave it to him after a few hours. The poor little baby was so miserable! I guess even weakened antibodies are better than none...you try to make the best decisions with the information you have, and then have to trust the rest to God. (A lesson I always need to re-learn it seems)
