Our computer is finally fixed. I should have know something was wrong when I woke up one morning to find that somehow our firewall had uninstalled itself. Hmmmmmm. Anyway, I tried to fix it by myself for a few days, but everything I tried to solve only created more problems. Eventually Dominic got tired of me being grouchy and said it was time to call in the experts. $300 and 10 days later the Geek Squad returned our computer to us. I had been infected with a virus. But now everything works again. Yea! I guess we weren't the only ones to have the problems if the help boards on our firewall website are any indication....
So during that time....both the boys had fevers, first Liam and then Finnigan. I was next to impossible to get them into the health clinic for appointments. If any of my readers are fans of "socialized medicine" or "universal health care" I am here to tell you that that isn't really what you want. You are going to have to trust me on this one.
Anyway. So both the boys were sick. Finn's fever gave him the added bonus of making him squirley instead of lethargic, which was not much fun for me. Finnigan also decided that this was the week to give up his crib. After one night of several escape attempts I decided to no longer tempt fate and put up the toddler bed, before his climbing out resulted in a broken arm. I have been spending much of this week and last lying on the floor near Finn's bed till he falls asleep. This happens many times a night. I am trying to get as much coherent prayer time in as I can during these "delightful" bonding moments. I am also praying for a faster adaptation to his new found nightly freedom. :-)
Dominic and I decided we didn't want to move a bunch of furniture around, and so opted to wait to upgrade our bed to something bigger. We got iphones instead with a portion of our tax refund and put the rest in savings. we love our iphones and they came in very handy the week our computer was gone. I didn't think I would use it much beyond its phone capacities, but I do and I LOVE IT! We also decided to put our names on a waiting list for a new house on base. We decided that we really don't know how long we will be here, we hope to move next fall....but we just don't know. So we are on a list to move into a new house on base. The list is 4 months, so at this point I am hoping our name doesn't come up the week new baby decides to come into the world. All though I have an abundance of wonderful friends who have volunteered to take care of things for me, should that be the way things happen...
Finally, Lent has started. This year for Lent I am having the boys give up TV. Well, I am limiting their viewing to one hour each a day. I know all the good moms out there are gasping...still two hours of TV!!!!... But well, I needed to be realistic about things. I know that I am not a perfect parent, but knowing that I think makes me a good parent. I have come to rely on the TV a lot thus far in the pregnancy, especially with Dom gone so much. I know that I need time to rest in the day, and with Finnigan protesting his naps (yikes!!!) I knew realistically I needed to give myself an out if I am dragging some days. Thus far after a few days of minor protesting they haven't even asked for the TV, they are playing well together, they are being more creative. I've been taking more time to interact with them instead of plopping them in front of a movie to get stuff done. Its been good. I personally think its okay to use the TV sometimes, I love to put on Sesame Street so I can cook dinner with out a 2 year old clinging to my leg....but it was getting to be too much too often and needed to stop. so that's us this Lent. I also hope to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy together as a family once a week. Its a little shorter than the rosary, and can be chanted/sung so I think my boys will pay a little more attention. Plus is focuses on Christs Passion and Death, which is good during Lent, I think. We'll see.
The video's are my boys riding bikes out front. Finn can reach the petals of his trike, but the way he rides is faster and easier for him (???) I'll try to get some more pictures soon. Thanks for taking the time to read our loooooong update.

you are so lucky about the house. they "offered" us a 1200 sq ft 3 bedroom that we couldnt even look at. needless to say, we have been frantically looking for something different somewhere else. even with all 4 kids, AHH! It has been a nightmare looking for a place too.
